The Theory and Practice of Teaching

The Theory and Practice of Teaching
Peter Jarvis(Editor)

Editorial Reviews Review 'Here we have the second edition (the first having appeared in 2002) of one of a pair of important books by a gifted writer in this field. We hope thatThe theory and practice of learningwill reach its second edition soon too, though continue to wonder (as we did in 2002) why such an expert as Jarvis seems to put teaching before learning.'

'Thisisa good book, taking its title in the strict sense that shows the theory leading the practice. Its seventeen chapters, in three groups (philosophy, methodology and er assessment;open learning; professionalism), all work well even if often in very separate boxes. There are lots of further reading and an excellent index.'
