The book is a translation of the German third edition “Alpin- und Höhenmedizin”, which hast been extensively updated: new chapters have been added on pulse oximetry at high-altitude, neurological and psychiatric emergencies in the mountains, multiple trauma in the mountains, suspension syndrome, an new search and rescue technology in the mountains. Numerous other chapters have been updated and thoroughly revised.
The book is aimed at mountain physicians, sports medicine specialists, travel medicine physicians, medical personnel and physicians involved in emergency medicine and mountain rescue, and all physicians and professional groups interested in mountain and high-altitude medicine.
