I've been playing guitar for longer than I care to remember! But the times I've spent playing guitar with friends, singing around a campfire, and eventually playing in church, have been some of the richest moments in my life. Music draws us together, and the right music lifts our hearts and souls higher, to a place that reminds us of who we truly are and where we are destined to be.I started playing guitar when I was 12 years old when I picked up my brother's abandoned nylon string guitar. I taught myself to play for a few years... and eventually started taking lessons from a private instructor when I was 15 years old. I went on to study music at a university and studied with two other instructors while I was there who were also very helpful... But I have to say that I wasted a lot of that time musically because I didn't really know how to LEARN the guitar.It took me a long time to figure out certain things during those years, even with the help of instructors along the way. And along the way, I finally figured out that there truly are KEYS to learning the guitar... keys that I wish I had known when I started.
